SCARLETT
Scarlett is a trained actor, writer and musician, dedicated to promoting creative writing in an accessible way for the younger generation, believing it to be a vital means of self-expression which caters to the individual and encourages empathy.
Working as a creative writing facilitator across London and Essex for over six years (tramshed, Chelsea Young Writers and Essex University’s Dora Love Prize) she has been in charge of running large workshops in person and online between ages 5-16.
“Growing up with dyspraxia and ADHD meant I had to develop unique strategies to cope in the normal classroom setup. Taking this into my work I specialise in helping children who are unable to work to their best ability in the usual classroom environment. I have found that poetry, art and music play a crucial role in encouraging these pupils to participate, stay engaged, resonate on a deeper level and unlock barriers in which they can trust their intuition. Inspired by this work I am also in the midst of writing a children’s book, which I have been working on for a couple of years.”
